What Microsoft Teams calling costs, part by part
Microsoft licences, ORENCloud fees, numbers and call usage are billed separately. Here is who charges for what, and what we need to give you a clear quote.
Microsoft TeamsUsers make and take phone calls in the Teams app they already use, on desktop, mobile or web. No extra app or desk phone.
WithTeams lets Microsoft Teams users make and receive phone calls through ORENCloud. Your total has separate parts: Microsoft Teams and Teams Phone entitlements, bought from Microsoft or a reseller only where your licences do not already include them; ORENCloud’s WithTeams service and calling plan; Malaysian numbers; and call usage. ORENCloud does not publish a WithTeams price, so request a quote based on your Teams users and numbers.

Microsoft licences are not part of ORENCloud’s published WithTeams material. Unless your quote says otherwise, assume you buy them from Microsoft or your Microsoft partner.
Which Microsoft licences do I need?
Microsoft sells these licences, not ORENCloud. Microsoft’s current documentation sets out what each user needs.
Teams and Teams Phone entitlements
Each user who has a phone number needs Teams and Teams Phone. Buy the Teams Phone add-on only where your existing licences do not already include it; Microsoft says some, such as qualifying Microsoft 365 E5 plans, do. Check with Microsoft or your reseller. For calls to the public network you also choose a connectivity option.
Qualifying plans are listed by Microsoft
Microsoft lists the Business, Enterprise, Frontline and education plans that can take Teams Phone with a separate carrier. Confirm your plan with your reseller; if you are unsure, ask us.
Calling Plans depend on country
Microsoft says Calling Plans are available only in some countries and regions. A separate carrier is the alternative.
If your tenant uses Direct Routing
Microsoft lists Direct Routing as one way to connect a separate carrier. Its planning page sets out what must exist.
A Microsoft-certified session border controller
Microsoft supports Direct Routing only with certified controllers.
A verified domain and public certificate
The controller’s name must sit in a verified Microsoft 365 domain, not *.onmicrosoft.com, with a trusted certificate.
Teams and Teams Phone for each user
Plus any other licences your deployment needs.

These are the ORENCloud lines you can already price yourself.

Look up any destination on the call rates page. ORENCloud also offers caller ID masking, so users can show your main business number.
Numbers
Pick Malaysian numbers from available numbers. We do not port existing numbers.

Microsoft licences, taxes, setup and customisation, and any PBX features you add through CloudOffice.

How much does Microsoft Teams calling cost in Malaysia with ORENCloud?
ORENCloud does not publish a fixed WithTeams price because it depends on the number of users, channels, numbers and features. Request a quote. Microsoft’s licences are separate and priced by Microsoft or your reseller.
Do I still need a Microsoft Teams Phone licence?
You need Teams and Teams Phone entitlements. Buy the Teams Phone add-on only where your existing licences do not already include it; Microsoft says some licences, such as qualifying Microsoft 365 E5 plans, already do. Check with Microsoft or your reseller.
Do I have to use Microsoft’s Calling Plans?
No. Microsoft lists connecting a separate phone carrier as an alternative, and WithTeams lets you use ORENCloud’s calling instead of Microsoft’s default calling plans. Our per-minute rates are on the call rates page.
Can I keep my existing business numbers?
No. We do not port existing numbers to ORENCloud. You choose new numbers from our available numbers.
Do I get call reports and recording?
Microsoft Teams provides Direct Routing usage and troubleshooting reports. Your PBX may provide additional reports. When calls route through CloudOffice, its reporting, recording, IVR and queues are available as well.
